A provider implements the actual storage of cache entries — file system, memory, APC, Redis, and so on — while the cache manager routes calls to the right provider. The concrete providers shipped with xPDO are xPDOFileCache, xPDOMemCache, xPDOMemCached, xPDOAPCCache, xPDORedisCache and xPDOWinCache.
